Where should I stay?
We recommend that participants reserve accommodations on-site in the guest rooms at the Darden Executive Residence Center. The Center offers private rooms with a queen-sized bed, bath, telephone, TV and internet access, in addition to a fully-equipped exercise room. Valet laundry service is available.

What is the dress code?
Nice casual. August weather in Charlottesville is likely to be in the upper 80s to mid-90s with some humidity, but meeting rooms are often cool, so be sure to bring a jacket or sweater.
Where should I fly into?
The Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport (CHO) offers 60 daily non-stop flights to and from New York/LaGuardia, Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Washington/Dulles, Cincinnati, Detroit and Atlanta. The airport is served by Delta, Northwest, United and US Airways.
Travelers may also elect to drive to Charlottesville from Richmond International Airport (75-minute drive), Washington Dulles International Airport (a 2-hour drive) or from Washington National Airport (a 2.5-hour drive). Charlottesville is also served by Amtrak, making travel by travel an additional option for participants traveling along the East Coast.

Is there required pre-reading?
Yes. Prior to the program, participants will receive materials for the program’s case studies, as well as reading for participants for who are new to the sector.
Are meals included?
Breakfast and lunch will be provided Monday morning through Friday morning for participants at the Abbott Center dining room. For other meals, there are a variety of restaurants on the “Corner,” in the historic downtown area and along Route 29 North. Maps of these areas and lists of recommended restaurants will be available at registration.
Where can I park during the conference?
University parking passes will be issued by the Darden Gatehouse receptionist. These passes will permit those staying at the Darden Sponsors Executive Conference Center to park for the length of their stay in a lot or garage adjacent to the Darden and the Center.
Conference participants not staying at the Center may pick up a daily parking permit for the garage. Both the lot and the garage are convenient to the Darden classrooms, and all parking is complimentary.
Is there a gym?
There is a small exercise facility located on the lower level of the East Wing of Sponsors Executive Conference Center. You may use this it any time without having to obtain a pass. If you wish to use the University’s other facilities, you will need to obtain a Rec Center Facility Pass from the gatehouse attendant. There is a charge for the pass.
