Now in its 12th year, Analyst Training in Banks and Insurance covers the broad spectrum of topics unique to performing analysis in the complex financial services sector. It is the benchmark training program for professionals looking to analyze, advise, work in or regulate financial institutions.

This year's content has been developed in the context of the fundamental changes taking place within the financial services sector. New regulatory constructs, shifts in investor focus, and capital and liquidity challenges all mean banks and insurers will continue to be among the most challenging businesses to analyze.

Analyst Training in Banks and Insurance puts you in a post-graduate environment under the instruction of leading industry professionals, experienced practitioners and top academics to give you the benefit of multiple perspectives on the tool sets specific to evaluating banks and insurance companies.

Additionally, you benefit from networking and discussions with attendees from across the financial services spectrum.

Topics include:

  • The fundamental earnings metrics, valuation multiples and accounting adjustments used in analyzing the financial statements of banking or insurance institutions
  • How to use valuation techniques and analytical tools effectively
  • Identifying and assessing the key economic and competitive forces affecting the sectors
  • Strategies for accessing capital markets and managing capital and their implications for a financial institution

This program presumes familiarity with basic accounting and finance concepts, including financial ratios and discounted cash flow analysis. Prior to the program, participants will receive materials for the program case studies as well as reading for participants who are new to the sector.
