Contract Opportunities for Professionals Experienced in Credit Analysis and/or Valuation of Insurance Carriers (P&C and Life)

The SNL Center for Financial Education has two contract opportunities available for an experienced professional to teach a 2-day course on Insurance Company Credit Analysis and a 3-day course on Insurance Valuation. This is a contract position and would not require relocation.

INSURANCE VALUATION COURSE:
The SNL Center for Financial Education is looking for an experienced investment banker, private equity investor or insurance company corporate development professional to teach a seminar on valuing insurance carriers. The course will be delivered 2-3 times per year in public open enrollment courses and 2-3 times per year onsite at major insurance companies and investment banks for a total of 12-18 training days per year.

The candidate should have extensive experience in valuing insurance carriers for either control or minority stake investing purposes. In addition, preference will be given to a candidate with subject matter expertise in both Life and P&C companies; expertise in one or the other may also qualify. The candidate must possess superior technical skills and be able to build and/or explain thoroughly and clearly the use of a dividend discount or discounted cash flow model. Candidate must possess strong public presentation and communication skills. Prior experience teaching in a classroom is strongly preferred.

INSURANCE COMPANY CREDIT ANALYSIS COURSE:
The SNL Center for Financial Education is looking for an experienced securities analyst, ratings agency or commercial lender to teach a seminar on evaluating the credit worthiness of an insurance company. The course will be delivered 2-3 times per year in public open enrollment courses and 2-3 times per year onsite at major insurance companies and investment banks for a total of 12-18 training days per year.

The ideal candidate should have direct experience in evaluating insurance companies' credit risk. In addition, preference will be given to a candidate with subject matter expertise in both Life and P&C companies; expertise in one or the other may also qualify. The candidate must possess superior technical skills and be able to explain thoroughly and clearly the analysis of financial statements and capital structures, ratio and trend analysis, and creating projections of cash flows. Candidate must possess strong public presentation and communication skills. Prior experience teaching in a classroom is strongly preferred.

COURSE STRUCTURE AND AUDIENCE
The format of these seminars include a combination of lectures, case studies and hands-on exercises intended for junior to mid-level professionals: analysts and associates at investment banks, asset management firms, regulatory bodies and consulting firms, as well as corporate development and finance professionals at insurance companies.

Contract Opportunities for Professionals Experienced in Power Valuation

The SNL Center for Financial Education has contract opportunities available for an experienced professional to teach a 2-day course Power Valuation. This is a contract position and would not require relocation.

POWER VALUATION COURSE:
The SNL Center for Financial Education is looking for an experienced investment banker, private equity investor or electric utility corporate development professional to teach a seminar on valuing power plant projects and companies. The course will be delivered 2-3 times per year in public open enrollment courses and 2-3 times per year onsite at major utility companies and investment banks for a total of 12-18 training days per year.

The candidate should have extensive experience in valuing power plant projects for either control or minority stake investing purposes. In addition, preference will be given to a candidate with subject matter expertise in valuing whole companies and utility stocks; expertise in one or the other may also qualify. Candidate must possess strong public presentation and communication skills. Prior experience teaching in a classroom is strongly preferred.

Contract Opportunities for Professionals with Finance Experience in: Banking, Insurance, Energy and REITs

The SNL Center for Financial Education has contract opportunities for experienced investment bankers, private equity investors, securities analysts and/or industry professionals to periodically teach open enrollment training seminars on various industry-specific accounting and finance topics. Course offerings are delivered 2-3 times per year in public, open enrollment format and potentially on-site at organizations participating in a particular industry. The ideal candidate should have direct experience in one of the industries listed and the subjects outlined below. Preference will be given to individuals with subject matter expertise in multiple topic areas. We are interested in candidates who can both develop new curriculum material and teach courses. Teaching experience is not required, however candidates with prior classroom experience and/or an affinity for adult education are preferred.

Course topics include: Balance Sheet Management, Credit Analysis, Financial Modeling, Risk Management, Capital Raising, Securities/Asset Valuation, Accounting, Project Finance

The format of the training seminars is typically a combination of lectures, case studies, and hands-on exercises intended for junior to mid-level professionals. Contract instructors may also be involved in the development of online training materials as needed. This is a contract position and does not require relocation.
