CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY FOR EXPERIENCED
ENERGY/UTILITY I-BANKER OR ANALYST
We are looking for an experienced energy sector investment banker or utility equity/credit analyst to develop a course curriculum and teach a Power Valuation seminar several times a year in public forums and in custom in-house training sessions.The ideal candidate would have direct experience in valuing power companies and assets as well as an interest in educational programming. This is a contract position and would not require relocation.
The course structure will be an intensive two-day program dedicated to valuing merchant power assets and companies. This instructor position entails developing and designing curriculum and coursework composed of lectures, case studies, and Excel modeling exercises. Topics to be covered include:
- sources of power plant revenues and expenses
- types and valuation of contract types for power output and fuels
- fundamentals and structures of regional power markets effecting dispatch and revenues
- cash flow forecasting under uncertainty
- analysis of independent power company financial statements and profitability measures
- asset and company valuation methods (comparables/replacement/NAV/DCF).
The audience for this program consists of junior to mid-career professionals in the energy sector, including investment banking; traditional power investors/securities analysis, private equity and other investment professionals, as well as utility finance/strategy personnel who seek to better understand how their companies and assets are valued by Wall Street.
